I'm thinking that it would be a good idea to build a GEDCOM-based db of the family trees of the colonists for my story.

Certainly, since it's going to be a closed genepool, it wouldn't be that large to start. However, we are looking at at least half a millenium's worth of offspring to follow.

Of course, I've got a ways to go before I'm ready to publish anything relating to this project.
